Cynthia "Cindy" J. Messier, 75, of Fairhaven, passed away on Sunday, November 4, 2018, at the Royal of Fairhaven. She was the wife of twenty-two years to Edward J. Maguire. Cindy graduated from Fairhaven High School and earned her Master's degree in Education from Bridgewater State College. Mrs. Messier taught sixth grade at the East Fairhaven School for over forty years, retiring in 2008. She was the past president of Your Theatre Inc. in New Bedford. Cindy was heavily involved with the theatre for many years serving in several capacities and on numerous committees. She also taught acting to children and directed several productions. Mrs. Messier enjoyed a good crossword puzzle and was an avid reader and traveler. Survivors besides her husband are a brother: Stephen Messier of Brooklyn, NY. Her Funeral Service will be held on Friday, November 9, 2018, at 11am, in the Fairhaven Funeral Home , 117 Main Street, Fairhaven. Relatives and friends are invited to attend, burial to follow in Riverside Cemetery. Calling Hours for Cindy will be held on Thursday, November 8, 2018, from 4-7pm, in the funeral home.
