Diane Alphonse Parr

Diane Marie (Alphonse) Parr, 64, of Fairhaven passed away Saturday, March 11, 2023 at home surrounded by her family after a courageous battle with cancer. She was the loving wife of 42 years to Stephen Parr. Born in New Bedford, daughter of Silvana (Barreira) Alphonse of Fairhaven and the late William Alphonse, she lived most of her life in Fairhaven where she was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church and a graduate of Fairhaven High School. Diane was an escrow account manager for 16 years at Marine Safety Consultants. Prior to Diane’s time as an escrow manager she worked at the Fairhaven public schools and followed her children through different grade levels working in the cafeteria to be closer to her children while also making a positive impact on numerous kids. Diane enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family especially her grandchildren. She is survived by her loving husband, Stephen; her mother; her children, Jeffrey S. Parr and his wife Chastity and Andrea M.Lane and her husband Jack all of Acushnet; four grandchildren, twins Jason and Victoria Lane, Hudson Parr and Véda Rae Lane; two brothers, William Alphonse and his wife Cheryl and Russell Alphonse and his wife Kristen all of Dartmouth; two sisters, Carol Rock and her husband Steve and Linda Costa all of Fairhaven; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Calling hours are Wednesday from 4-7pm in the Fairhaven Funeral Home, 117 Main St., Fairhaven. Her funeral will be Thursday, March 16, 2023 at 9am from the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in St. Mary’s Church, Fairhaven.
