FALL RIVER Kevin D. Cadieux, 78, of Westport and formerly of Fairhaven, passed away Monday, July 8, 2013, at Charlton Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of Patricia (Stanley) Cadieux and the late Elizabeth "Betty" (Corcoran) Cadieux. Kevin was born in Acushnet, a son of the late Adrian and Palma (Champegny) Cadieux, he was a life-long resident of the area. Mr. Cadieux graduated from Fairhaven High School in 1951. After graduation, he went on to graduate from the University of Maine where he lettered in both football and baseball. In 1955 Kevin was a Kappa Sigma All-American. He graduated from University of Maine and held a Masters from Bridgewater State College. Kevin was a gifted athlete and coach in football and baseball, including participation in semi-pro teams. He followed college football and the Boston Red Sox for the rest of his life. He taught in the Dartmouth, Fairhaven and New Bedford schools. He delighted in coaching football and baseball in Fairhaven and Dartmouth, where he enriched the lives of many students and players. In 1998, Mr. Cadieux was inducted into the Fairhaven High School Hall of Fame. Kevin was president of the Fairhaven Teacher's Association, a member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary and the Fairhaven Varsity Club. Kevin loved fishing and was happiest when on his boat or posing for a picture with a 'great catch.' Besides his wife, he is survived by his children, Steven Cadieux, Kevin Cadieux and his wife Barbara, Lisa Stoeckle and her husband Phillip, Lori Almeida and her husband Joseph, all of Fairhaven; Joe Fernandes and his wife Shelly of Westport; Kim Corazzini and her husband Joseph of Mattapoisett; his sister, Lynne Kania of Lincoln, RI; and his daughter-in-law, Jennifer Fernandes. He loved his sixteen grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was father of the late Richard Fernandes and brother of the late Donald Cadieux. Relatives and friends are invited to his visiting hours, Saturday, July 13, 2013, from 4-8 PM in the WARING-SULLIVAN Home of Memorial Tribute at Fairlawn, 180 Washington St., Fairhaven.
