Elaine May (Sylvia) Marshall

Elaine May (Sylvia) Marshall completed her last dance on earth January 5th, 2024 at the age of 95 years old. Born in New Bedford. Elaine had enjoyed living in Fairhaven for more than 70 years. Widow of the late Custodio (Chris) Marshall. Daughter of the late Antone and Mary (Pimental) Sylvia. Sister of the late Edward P. Sylvia. Survived by son Jeffrey Marshall of Fairhaven, grandson Alex Marshall of North Adams, and nephews Jay, Paul, and Glen Sylvia. Elaine was a graduate of New Bedford High School Class of 1946. She worked in the Medical Records Department of St. Luke’s Hospital for 12 years and the Fairhaven School Department at Hastings Middle School as the Guidance secretary for 27 years until her retirement in 1986. Elaine was always active and had many interests including crafting and dancing. She taught craft classes in her home for many years, painted, and was a regular on ballroom dance floors in the area. She and her late husband Chris were members of St. Mary’s Church in Fairhaven for many years. Her funeral service will be Friday, January 12, 2024 at 11 am in the Fairhaven Funeral Home, 117 Main St., Fairhaven.
