Antone (Tony) Fernandes

NEW BEDFORD Tony Fernandes, 51, of Fairhaven, died unexpectedly September 12, 2009, at the New Bedford Rehabilitation Hospital. He was born in New Bedford, a son of the late Manuel J. and Cora J. (Daignault) Fernandes and had been a life long resident of Fairhaven. He was employed as a truck driver for Mainline Tire. Mr. Fernandes enjoyed watching the Red Sox and playing cards. Survivors include 2 sisters, Nancy Parent and June Wylie, both of Fairhaven; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and good friends, Kathy and Sue. He was the uncle of the late Wendy Mitchell. He also leaves behind his beloved dog Blacky. Graveside service to which relatives and friends are invited will be held Wednesday, September 23, 2009, at 10AM at River-Side Cemetery, 274 Main Street, Fairhaven, MA. www.southcoastfuneralhome.com.
