43, of Dartmouth, Mass., died unexpectedly Monday, Feb. 18, 2002. He was the husband of Rosary (Gordo) Do Carmo. Born in New Bedford, Mass., the son of Alice (Costa) Do Carmo and the late Nuno J. Do Carmo, he lived in this area all of his life. Mr. Do Carmo was a fisherman and captain of the Ilha Do Corvo F/V. He was also the captain of many other fishing vessels. He was a communicant of St. Julie Billiart Church, Dartmouth. Survivors include his widow; his mother; and a daughter, Shantelle Do Carmo of Dartmouth. He was the brother of the late Nuno J. Do Carmo Jr. His funeral will be at 8:45 a.m. Saturday from the Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St., New Bedford, followed by a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Julie Billiart Church, Dartmouth. Burial will be in St. John Cemetery, New Bedford.
