Richard E. Pietrass

40, of New Bedford, a commercial fisherman, died Wednesday, Aug. 25, 1999, at St. Luke's Hospital after a brief illness. He was the fiance of Diane Bailie of New Bedford. Born in Orange County, Calif., the son of Richard Pietrass of Edwards, N.Y., and the late Lorraine W. (Oliveira) DeCarvalho, he lived in New Bedford most of his life. Survivors include his fiancee; his father; his stepmother, Priscilla Pietrass of Edwards; a daughter, Patricia Lynn Pietrass of Fall River; six sisters, Joyce Cinelli of Pennsylvania, Jo-Anne Pietrass and Cheryl Fasano, both of Florida, Abigail Tresidder of New York and Jayne Pietrass and Elissa Pietrass, both of New Bedford; and many nieces and nephews. His memorial service will be at 9 a.m. Saturday at Seamen's Bethel, Johnny Cake Hill. Arrangements are by Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St.
