Dear FHS '76 Classmate, Difficult as it is to believe, it is going to be thirty-five years since we graduated way back in 1976. We shared many of good times. I think we can remember most of them, we so enjoyed our years at Fairhaven High, now the time is approaching to celebrate our life’s successes and to reminisce of our days we shared at Fairhaven High School. With the start up of our class web site and FaceBook pages, several classmates continue cyber communicating with some sense of anxieties, along with some nostalgia focusing toward attending the next class reunion. Within some discussions, some of the history or memories are on the negative side for a lack of having a better description. At the site, we are thrilled when any of our classmates make contact. We do not remember some of my lesser moments at FHS, we do remember most of, if not of all the good laughs and moments we shared with a wide variety of the membership known as the FHS class of 76. We would like to share an idea, an opinion of what we may have already become and it’s possible without us even realizing this. Here is a statement from FHS’s Mr. Earl Dias. What makes this of importance is many of us experienced Mr. Dias while he attempted to educate us in English in our years at Fairhaven High. This is a small piece of a larger statement, however, thinking our classmates will pick up on the concept. Mr. Dias wrote: "Fairhaven High School is a place where, for a century, young people have been growing together, it is a place where lifelong friendships have been formed. It is a place where impressionable adolescents have developed wholesome attitudes toward life and toward each other that form a foundation of a successful community.” We are asking each member of the class of 1976 to truly consider attending our thirty-fifth class reunion. Some of your classmates are diligently planning a enjoyable and relaxing atmosphere for our 35th Class Reunion. Truly, we want this to be a reunion you will enjoy and remember.Developing our combined resources in honoring our past and present classmates, focusing our efforts to hold our thirty-fifth reunion on Buzzards Bay seems to represent the very quailty of our class, the Class of 1976. We are committed to this endeavor fully aware of the some improbabilities of not pleasing some classmates, our goals are to extract the rich natural resources available to us and are so fortunate to experience here in Southeastern Massachusetts. Believing we are placing our best efforts into this concept and strongly feel our desire to re-introduce this enviroment, this opportunity and share this time and place with YOU, our 1976 classmate.   The date is set for June 25th,2011 ( Homecoming Day). Though this current economic situation may now create frustration in attending the thirty-fifth reunion, take this very moment to think ahead and begin the planning process to attend our Thirty-Fifth Class Reunion. Begin by saving some pocket change, a few dollars here and there a week or a month in some cookie type jar or local credit union’s vacation passport club. What ever avenue you decide upon, begin the process now. There is so much to reminisce about and to catch up on at the thirty-fifth reunion. Our class is small enough that some how, in some way, we all touched each other lives in one way or another, our thirty-fifth reunion can not be complete, will not be considered a success, without you in attendance. More details will be shared in the coming months as the time line draws nearer and the continued negotiations finalize our arrangements. You can assist this endeavor by updating your contact information, helping us seek the balance of friends allowing each of us to enjoy your company at the thirty-fifth reunion. The photos used are the real place, expressing the simple elegance of the environment, but YOU comprise the main element in making this a special TIME. Plan to attend, make it happen. All of this information will be posted on the class’s web site as quickly as we have it. We can only contact you if your information is up to date. As we arrive closer to the summer of 2011, contact classmates Deb Canastra at ladymedusa@comcast.net or Dave Farias at davidf13@localnet.com. Our Class is looking forward to hearing from you and most importantly, seeing you at the reunion. Begin thinking about it today, the Thirty-Fifth Reunion on the River is not that far away! Think Reunion on the River SUMMER of 2011 will YOU be there?
