Kent Hakanson

After gradating from Boston College I moved out to San Francisco for Grad school in 1985. Moved down to Palo Alto in 98 and now live in Portola Valley, which is about 5 minutes from Stanford. Married a Cal Berkley girl and we have a 10 year old. I work in the private banking realm with Venture Capitalist in the Valley. The picture above is of Kent and his son Alex and "Shadow" at home in this 2007 photo.

(update:) Kent Håkanson is a managing director at SVB Private Client Services responsible for providing personal financial solutions to entrepreneurs, investors and senior executives in the technology, life sciences, private equity and premium wine industries. Using a variety of innovative and flexible loan structures, he helps clients reduce financial complexity and unlock the liquidity in their personal balance sheets, thus increasing opportunities for wealth creation. Håkanson and his team work with more than 25 percent of the Forbes Midas list designates. Prior to joining SVB in 1993, Håkanson worked in private banking at Pacific Bank and Wells Fargo. Before his private banking career, he was an institutional securities trader with Charles Schwab in San Francisco. Håkanson holds Series 7 and Series 63 certifications, and received a business banking officer credential from Wells Fargo Bank. He earned a bachelor’s degree in political science and graduated cum laude from Boston College and holds a master’s in business administration with a concentration in finance from the University of San Francisco.
