FAIRHAVEN HIGH SCHOOL CLASS OF 1976

Where We Are Now

Interesting information about our classmates taken from the World Wide Web or submitted by themselves. We would prefer if our classmates submitted the information and photo themselves to save us from 'searching you down'

Kathy Lopes

Our classmate Kathy Lopes is very active in the sport of running and organizes several area road races such as The Fort Phoenix 5K Race and donates the proceeds to town charities. As of December 2007 Kathy won the Greater New Bedford Track Club's Grand Prix racing award in her category (49-59 group). Of the annual Phoenix 5K road race Kathy specifies the course is a fast, wheel-measured 3.1 mile run, and notes that, while strong runners often turn out, it's also perfect for novices looking to test their mettle. "It's a relatively flat, fast course. It's great for beginners because of that," she said. Kathy's name and race results can be found in most cyber search engines. The staff finally located an action photo of our running classmate. Kath, we know people who know people! A little note:Kathy holds an annual race in Fairhaven as a fund raiser, so please assist with our Kathy’s fund raising endeavor and go to www.jbrace.com to register and check the race out! Kathy lights the way for those behind us to run where we once ran. THANKS KATH!

UPDATE: November 6th 2008; Kathy Lopes, right, '76 kicked off the Dollars for Scholars campaign (benefits FHS students ) with a generous donation of $500 in memory of her brother, Curtis Lopes '82; the funds were raised from the annual Fort Phoenix 5K. Doug Medeiros '82 graciously accepted the donation at Southern Mass Credit Union.
